Family Comfort

In 2003 various observations
and experiences led us to
the conclusion that Saint Joseph’s Manor could offer a
truly special service if it could provide a private place
for a resident’s family to spend with their loved one
during the final days of life.
After extensive planning, fundraising and construction we
opened our unique Family Comfort Suite in November of
2004. This two-room suite offers one room for the resident
and a directly adjoining room for the benefit of family
members and friends. It includes a sleeper sofa, chairs,
dining table, small refrigerator and a television. Some
dining service is also provided.
Numerous families have utilized this space since its
opening. They most often note how special it was to have
the privacy offered to them in such a supportive
environment. Gratitude has also been evident in the fact
that many families continue to request that memorial
donations go to maintaining our ability to offer these
services or to add similar places in other locations in
the facility. A significant amount has been raised to make
expansion of these services a good probability.
