Adult Day Care |

Joseph's Manor has had the privilege of providing Adult
Day Care services for greater Portland residents since
1983. These services are available Monday through Friday,
which allows caregivers to work or to attend to other
personal business with peace of mind. Over the years our
services have allowed numerous seniors to stay at home for
months and years longer than they might have without their
participation in our program.
The goals of our Adult Day Care program include helping to
prevent isolation by promoting social interaction and
companionship. This can help to forestall admission to a
residential care or long term care facility. We provide
monitoring of the medical and nutritional status of each
participant and as well as assistance with activities of
daily living. We also work to promote the physical
well-being and maximize the cognitive skills of our
participants in a setting that honors and respects their
lives.
If our participants need a skilled or long term care
nursing facility admission, their status as an Adult Day
Care participant is considered a priority whenever
possible. We have seen that it can be most reassuring for
those participants, and their families, to already have a
familiarity with our facility when this step is taken.
We take great pride in the professional and caring
services we give to our participants and their families.
